Update On Iranian Labour Activists:
The good folks at Labour Start (http://www.labourstart.org -see also the Links section at the bottom of this page) have some good news to report concerning labour union members arrested in the past few weeks by the Iranian government. Three of the activists have been released, but the union President Mansour Osanloo (see previous items on this blog), arrested on Nov. 19th remains in prison. So far Labour Start has generated over 4,500 messages of protest in support of this unionist. The people at Labour Start wish to reemphasize the importance of this campaign. In recent days Iranian students have risked their lives to protest at a speech by the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, calling out "Death to the Dictator" in the face of a real dictator.
